What stimulates pride
- non-acceptance of self (don't accept our own weakness / can't tolerate it)
- heart wants to be right
- desire for power / wealth
- illusion of being like God (all-mighty, all-powerful, know-it-all)
- high expectations never fulfill
- perfectionism
- judgement
- refusal of admitting & accept weakness
- jealousy
Symptoms of pride
- hypocrisy
- difficulty to face the truth in their heart
- can't tolerate to be downgrade
- heart harden like a stone; all turn toward selfishness
- elevate ourselves so much that nothing become more sacred than ourselves
- snobism, elitism, arrogance, etc...
- ...
Consequences of pride
- impulsive impatience
- anger toward self & others
- lies / confusion / misinterpretations
- hate against yourself, God and others
- burning desire to hate, harsh & critic
- love/relationship become irritating
- abusive profit use of others (no human dignity) --> people become market product
- break relationship (diminish reputation, care, listening)
- ignorance of others, extreme self-center
- allergic to compassion & forgiveness (heart wants to be right)
- aggressive selfish attitude
- total denial & non-acceptance of self because we carry weakness
- corruption / hypocrisis
- engender even more frustrations
Sin to death
As it stimulate, the more we let it go, the more we'll being drained & pull deep down.
Sin is a huge spiritual drain, which acts like a virus.
We then, enter into a phase of "non-stop wheel" :
- gain more & more bad desires
- pull us more and more away from passion (reason to live)
- become more anger and get addicted to vice
Because of pride, it made the lost of 1/3 of angels in Heaven, Adam & Eve, Babel tower, etc... Pride create an illusion of rivalry with God, which, has a evil desire to be THE greatest, claiming praise, glory, fame, etc...
For me, hell is eternal pride at it pureness.
Cure for pride
--> Jesus Christ (true humility)
We discover love in humility. We discover hate in pride.
